"The Trust brings together this bunch of highly qualified specialists who enjoy their work, but also like to perform research with the aim of increasing the level of veterinary care in the future. On top of that, there is a very good work environment at the Trust, where people do enjoy helping each other within and between disciplines. This is a lovely place to work!"

"The new intern crew has arrived and is ready to crack on.
We are from various European countries or different English universities.
From the nice sunny beaches of Spain and Portugal to the beer and chocolate country of Belgium or more local like Cambridge or Edinburgh we have decided to come to the AHT because we know that Professionalism is a major criteria. We have decided to dedicate this year to the care of our AHT patients and to follow the clinicians, residents and nurses to improve or knowledge regarding further specialisation. We don't always have the best English but at least we can be distinguished we’ll always have a nice and shiny smile....even if we haven't sleep for a while."

"I joined the Animal Health Trust in September 2003 after studying a degree in Biology at the University of York. My work in the genetic department is focused on identifying gene mutations that cause hereditary conditions in the dog, leading to the development of diagnostic tests. I am currently studying the genetics of cerebellar ataxia in the Italian Spinone. Knowing that my work may lead to the prevention of disease through genetic screening is deeply satisfying and a great motivator. I have recently started a PhD to study the genetics of inherited neurological conditions in the dog."

"I have been at the Animal Health Trust for 30 years, after coming here straight from school starting out as a Junior Typist. I am now Head Receptionist in the Centre Small Animal Studies and enjoy my work very much. I have seen a lot of changes during this time, seeing many faces coming and going. I have also got to know many of the regular clients and their animals, being there for them during the happy and sad times. My work entails running of the busy reception, making sure the clinics run smoothly and clients made to feel welcome and comfortable during this stressful time. Its been an enjoyable 30 years and the AHT is a great place to work. I hope to work here for many more years."

"I’ve been working at the Animal Health Trust for 6 months now, I am really enjoying my time here because I am learning about lameness in horses which is helping me with my own yard. I am also really enjoying working with other members of the team, they have been really supportive and friendly since I started."

"I enjoy working in such a beautiful rural setting where colleagues bring their dogs to work. It reminds me of the importance of animal companionship every day."

"The best aspect of working at the Animal Health Trust is that it challenges me to test my skills as a scientist to develop new diagnostic tests and vaccines for the improvement of animal health. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and access to new state of the art technology, this is exactly what we are now delivering towards the eradication of Strangles."
