Current Vacancies- Veterinary Clinical Oncologist

The Animal Health Trust is a leading animal charity with the purpose of promoting animal welfare through veterinary research, post-graduate education and world class clinical services. Located at a beautiful location just 4 miles from Newmarket, its state of the art referral clinics offer a challenging and rewarding environment in which to work.
Within the Small Animal Clinic, we have an immediate opportunity for a Clinical Oncologist in our expanding Oncology Unit.

The Oncology Unit is an integral part of the Centre for Small Animal Studies at the AHT, and it works closely with both the Internal Medicine Unit and the Soft Tissue Surgery Unit.  These three units together currently have a total of six clinicians and three residents.

The AHT has a varied and interesting case-load together with excellent facilities and nursing care.  There is close integration with other core disciplines (neurology, ophthalmology, dermatology, anaesthesiology and diagnostic imaging), and on-site facilities include magnetic resonance imaging, fluoroscopy, nuclear imaging, radio-iodine therapy and full diagnostic laboratories.  There are outstanding opportunities for clinical research within the AHT, and collaborative research is also strongly encouraged.

We are looking for an experienced clinician who ideally would either hold, or be eligible to sit for, the ECVIM or ACVIM Diploma in Oncology.  Salary will be dependent on qualifications.

The AHT offers a very rewarding environment in which to work, with a focus on high quality referral clinical work, post-graduate veterinary education and clinical research.  Particular strengths include:

  1. A large sate-of-the-art referral clinic
  2. A multi-disciplinary, integrated team approach to patient care
  3. A dedicated on-site 1.5-Tesla MRI
  4. An expanding clinical and research oncology group, which includes basic scientists at the AHT
  5. The ability to offer medical, surgical and radiation oncology therapy to our patients
  6. Two existing specialist (board-certified) oncologists
  7. A total of 17 board-certified specialists in the clinic
  8. A patient-focussed client-orientated clinical service
