Current Vacancies-Internship in Clinical Ophthalmology
The Animal Health Trust is a large UK-based veterinary charity dedicated to promoting animal welfare through improved understanding of diseases in cats, dogs and horses. Situated in a beautiful location just 4 miles from Newmarket the AHT has a multi-disciplinary small animal referral clinic, an equine referral clinic and a number of research groups (including virology, epidemiology, pathology, genetics, and molecular oncology).
The small animal clinic is dedicated to providing the highest standards of patient care, and has an active programme of clinical research and post-graduate training (internships and residencies). As well as ophthalmology we also have specialist teams in anaesthesia, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, neurology/neurosurgery, oncology, and soft tissue surgery.
A 12 month training post is available within our Comparative Ophthalmology Unit for an enthusiastic candidate wishing to develop their skills in all aspects of clinical ophthalmology with the view to potentially pursuing further specialist qualifications within this field.
We have a substantial caseload in both small animals and equine, and the position offers an excellent environment for advanced training. We would welcome applications from veterinary surgeons with some experience and expertise in this area although this is not essential. This position provides a tax-free stipend of £13,000 per annum and includes onsite accommodation. Candidates will be expected to live on site for the duration of this internship and must also have applied for or have their MRCVS prior to commencing.
