£27.336.40 - £29,290.00 FTE
Owing to an increasing CT caseload, a post has recently been created for a CT radiographer within the diagnostic imaging team in the small animal clinic at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket. The post is initially for one year full time but we may consider part time applications.
The successful applicant will join a team of five veterinary radiologists and a radiography nurse. The CT scanner was installed early in 2013 and is a GE Brivo 385 16-slice system. As well as diagnostic studies on dogs and cats, the CT scanner is used frequently for radiotherapy planning. The CT radiographer will be in charge of all aspects of the CT unit’s management and caseload, including the development of new protocols. The successful applicant will be a medically-qualified radiographer with at least two years’ experience, including CT. Prior work with veterinary patients is desirable but not essential. Other imaging equipment on site includes Agfa CR, two Phillips ultrasound machines, a 1.5T GE MRI scanner, a Hallmarq standing equine low field MRI scanner and two gamma cameras.
The Trust’s small animal clinic is a referral-only hospital providing the highest standards of patient care. We employ a large number of veterinary specialists and operate an extensive programme of residencies and internships, training the specialists of the future. The clinic’s emphasis is on team-work and a happy and caring working environment, and members of the diagnostic imaging team work closely with staff in other disciplines including neurology, ophthalmology, oncology, internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, dermatology, anaesthesia and critical care. The pathology and clinical pathology laboratories at the AHT complement the clinical services, providing a full on-site diagnostic service.
