give a dog a genome -
breeds taking part so far
We're incredibly grateful to all the breeds that have shown an interest in Give a Dog a Genome.
75 breeds have registered to be included in the project and we are very pleased to be able to continue to match-fund the sequencing of all 75 genomes thanks to an additional grant of £25,000 from the Kennel Club Charitable Trust (KCCT), bringing the total grant funding for this project from the KCCT to £75,000.
This will help us to create an even larger and even more powerful canine genome bank as a permanent resource to aid all of our future canine genetics research investigations.
Any breed not included in the list below that is keen to be included in GDG2, if funding is secured, can put their name down to be contacted in early 2018 about the next phase of the project. To do so, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
* Please note, the Pug genome was funded in full by an individual in memory of a very special pug, Mr Biggles. The Basset hound genome was also funded in full.
