Our inherited disease research splits into three key areas linked by a common emphasis on molecular biology and molecular genetics.
Cancer is the most common cause of death in dogs, the second most common cause in cats. Our research aims to change this.
We identify genetic mutations which cause inherited disease in horses and dogs. Where possible, we develop DNA tests or other diagnostic tools to help eradicate these diseases.
Our interest is in companion animal pluripotent stem cells and their potential to provide therapeutic treatments to enhance the regeneration of tissue injuries and in vitro tools to study inherited diseases.
