The Animal Health Trust (AHT) is a large UK-based veterinary charity dedicated to promoting animal welfare through improved understanding of diseases in cats, dogs and horses. The small animal clinic is committed to providing the highest standards of patient care, and has an active programme of post-graduate training (internships and residencies) and clinical research supported by on site laboratories and scientists.
The Centre for Small Animal Studies at the Trust is currently seeking a small animal neurologist/neurosurgeon to join our team. The successful candidate is expected to hold a relevant diploma (ACVIM or ECVN) or to have completed an ECVN or ACVIM approved neurology residency.
As a referral-only hospital we specialise in neurology, anaesthesia and critical care, imaging, oncology, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedic surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, and dermatology. The Neurology/Neurosurgery Unit at the AHT is composed of four clinicians, two neurology residents, one neurology intern and one dedicated technician. The neurological and surgical facilities are excellent and include electrophysiology equipment, a full range of neurosurgical equipment, and an operating microscope. These are supplemented by on-site 1.5T MRI, CT, radiation therapy, clinical pathology and pathology service.
The successful candidate will undertake clinical duties, including neurosurgeries, teaching of residents/interns and will be encouraged to participate in clinical research.
The starting salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications.
