Samuela graduated from the University of Milan (Italy) in 2004. After graduating, she moved to France where she started a period of externship at the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire d’Alfort as well as in the Centre Hospitalier Veterinaire Fregis. At the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire d’Alfort she also completed the Diplome d’Ecole d’Ophtalmologie Veterinaire. Samuela went back to Italy in 2006 where she started a rotating general internship at the Clinica veterinaria San Marco (Padova). She completed a three years ECVO Residency program in 2010 at the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire d’Alfort.
After the completion of the residency program, she returned to Italy where she started to work as a freelancer in ophthalmology. She has worked as a locum in the UK since 2013. Samuela is a recognized European specialist in veterinary ophthalmology since 2015. She joined the AHT in March 2016.
The Animal Health Trust is a veterinary charity, based in Suffolk, which offers clinical referral services and diagnostic testing for horses, dogs and cats in East Anglia, across the UK and internationally. Through its research programmes it develops new diagnostic tests, treatments and vaccines to help thousands of animals.
