Aida qualified in 2003 from Santiago de Compostela University in Spain. After working for five years in several private practices in Spain, she developed an interest in internal medicine. Feeling unable to fulfil her professional interests there, Aida decided to move to the UK with the aim of getting a residency in Internal Medicine. In November 2008, Aida started a one-year internship at the Queen’s Veterinary Hospital of the University of Cambridge which was followed by a three-year ECVIM approved residency in Dick White Referrals, which she finished in December 2012. Aida joined the Animal Health Trust in February 2013 as a part-time Clinician in Small Animal Medicine and strives to offer the best quality care to her patients. Outside work Aida enjoys tango dancing, taking pictures of nature and cuddling and playing with her Spanish cats, Colocini and Flaquita.
The Animal Health Trust is a veterinary charity, based in Suffolk, which offers clinical referral services and diagnostic testing for horses, dogs and cats in East Anglia, across the UK and internationally. Through its research programmes it develops new diagnostic tests, treatments and vaccines to help thousands of animals.
