We’ve got three new
RCVS Specialists in
the AHT Team!
Please join us in congratulating not one, but three members of the AHT team, in achieving Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Specialist status - the highest level of accreditation a vet can achieve in his or her field of expertise – which involves a great deal of hard work, time and commitment!
Our veterinary team now houses 13 RCVS Specialists in total, all of whom help to provide the very best care to our patients while improving the health and welfare of all horses, dogs and cats through veterinary research.
Davide Berlato, (left) our Head of Oncology, who oversees the treatment of all of our patients in the Kennel Club Cancer Centre at the AHT, is now an RCVS Specialist in Oncology. Davide has been a European Specialist in Oncology since 2011 and is also currently completing a part-time PhD in prognostic markers in cancerous tumours.
James Oliver, (centre) one of our clinicians, is now an RCVS Specialist in Ophthalmology. James qualified as a European Specialist in Ophthalmology in 2007 and has recently started a PhD researching canine glaucoma, a painful and blinding disease affecting several popular dog breeds.
Francesco Cian (right), our Senior Clinical Pathologist, is now an RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Pathology. Francesco completed his diploma in Veterinary Clinical Pathology in 2013 at the University of Cambridge with the achievement of the European Specialist Board. He has a special interest for cytology and is involved in several research projects on canine and feline lymphoma.
