Please Support Mark’s Marathon
Mark Vaudin, Deputy Chief Executive of the Animal Health Trust, is running the 2012 London Marathon, in support of the AHT’s ongoing work to fight cancer in animals.
Cancer is the most common cause of death in dogs and the second most common cause in cats. However with the correct facilities, expertise and treatment it is the most curable chronic disease in these animals.
With the continued development of our brand new state-of-the-art cancer centre, the AHT will build on its ongoing research looking for ways to better diagnose, treat and prevent cancer in companion animals. The facility will also enable the AHT to offer all three treatment options: surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, to horses, dogs and cats, in one place
Treating animals with all types of cancers will enable our vets and scientists to expand current knowledge about the disease. It is also hoped that new knowledge gained through the cancer centre may ultimately benefit human cancer research.
Running a marathon is a huge undertaking so Mark aims to raise a significant amount of money for our cancer research. With just over three months to go, we are urging all our generous supporters to donate to this worthy cause.
