SUPPORT OUR CHARITY AT the AHT GALA RACE DAY THIS WEEKENd
On Saturday 8 June the July Racecourse in Newmarket plays host to an exciting fundraising Gala Race Day for our charity.
This is the first of the Summer Saturdays Live events at the July Course; with performances from top UK bands The Saturdays and Lawson, making this a day at the races not to be missed! Tickets are still available to buy from Newmarket Racecourses and start at just £15.
Our charity, based just outside Newmarket in Kentford, keeps horses, dogs and cats healthy by working hard to fight disease and injury in these companion animals. Its work to combat infectious equine diseases such as: Equine HerpiesVirus, Strangles, equine grass sickness and equine flu, supports the racing industry by ensuring horses all over the country are fit to compete.
There are four ways you can support our Gala Race Day:
- Make a donation when processing your ticket order
- Bid for one of our amazing ‘money can’t buy’ auction lots ahead of the day at www.aht.org.uk/galaraceday. (Bids close at 5pm on Friday 7 June.)
- Visit the pagoda, next to the Parade Ring in the Member’s Enclosure at the July Course, on the day to buy a raffle ticket, and you could win a Victoria Pendleton series bike, signed by the Olympic champion, in our summer raffle
- Share your winnings with us by dropping some change into the after-race AHT bucket collection.
Peter Webbon, our Chief Executive, said: “The AHT does so much behind the scenes to support the racing industry by working to combat equine diseases; but we rely on donations from the public in order to carry out this vital work.
“This year we’re making it easier for people to support our Gala Race Day than ever before. There are 40 great auction lots available to bid for, and attendees on the day have the chance to win a signed Victoria Pendleton series bike in our summer raffle.
“I hope people will come along and enjoy the racing and live performances, whilst showing their support for the AHT by giving generously on the day. We need your help to keep horses healthy and fit to compete, so that we can all continue to enjoy equine sports such as racing.”
