Raymond Wright

Photo showing Ray WrightRaymond is a Senior Technician in Pathology specializing in Orthopaedic Histology, he oversees the smooth running of the Post Mortem Room in the Allen Centre and when required works both in the Post Mortem Room and the Routine Histology Laboratory when staff are on holiday, off sick or during periods when there is an exceptionally heavy workload.

Raymond has over 40 years laboratory experience and has been at the Animal Health Trust for 22 of them, originally employed to run the Electron Microscope unit his responsibilities have changed over the years to match the changing priorities of the work at the AHT. Currently specializing in Orthopaedic Histology he has responsibility for cutting all the diagnostic bone and tendon cases, his research duties includes cutting large bone and tendon blocks as well as undecalcified bone embedded in resin.

He has worked in the Anatomy Dept at Guy’s Hospital, the Surgical Unit at St Thomas, Pathology Dept at the Middlesex Hospital and the Electron Microscopy laboratory at La Trobe University in Melbourne Australia. He has technical qualifications in Histology, Electron Microscopy, Zoology Techniques, General Laboratory Science and hold a NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
