Q1. For the parentage test, do you need a sample from both parents?

We require samples from the mother, the offspring and the father(s).
If there is a possibility of more than one father we need samples from each father

Q2. Which tests are available for my breed?

You need to click on the breed of your dog and the tests available will be detailed.

You need to fill in and submit correct forms
(any amendments can only be accepted in writing with your signature)

Q3. Is there a minimum age my dogs can be tested?

4 weeks and weaned

Q4. What type of sample do I need to send?

Bloods or cheek swabs – but which sample and quantity required depends upon which test you request

Q5. How much does it cost?

This depends which test you are having,

Q6. Will I get my L2HGA and HC results as the same time?

No – as these are two different tests you will receive the results separately.

Q7. Do we need special swabs?

Only accepting swabs issued by AHT since March 2006

Q8. How am I notified of test results?

You will receive a certificate by post to the address completed on test request form
You will also receive an e-mail if you fill in an e-mail address.

Q9. How long will results take to come through?

This depends upon the test you have requested – but usually between 3-4 weeks
