EHV-1 Abortion
As of 31st May a case of EHV-1 abortion has been confirmed in a vaccinated Polo pony mare in West Sussex, United Kingdom. EHV-1 was confirmed by PCR on fetal tissues conducted at the Animal Health Trust This case followed an earlier uninvestigated abortion on the same premise in December 2010. There are currently seven vaccinated in contact pregnant mares on the premise and control measures have been implemented.
