SWEDEN
Equine Influenza
Outbreaks of equine influenza have been diagnosed on several premises, with diagnoses confirmed by PCR. Clinical signs of fever and inappetance have been particularly noted, with severe signs seen in at least two cases and at least one horse is suffering pneumonia. Vaccinated horses have had milder signs. The source of the virus has not been been determined so far, although investigations into transportation of horses from both outside and within Sweden are ongoing.
