Equine Influenza
On 25th November 2011 an outbreak of equine influenza was reported from the Labor Dr. Böse GmbH. The outbreak occurred in the state of Lower Saxony, Germany and a diagnosis was made based on PCR of a nasal swab. The affected horse was a seven year old warmblood gelding which was unvaccinated and showed clinical signs of depression, anorexia, pyrexia, a cough and nasal discharge.
