FRANCE
Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1) causing paralytic disease
As of 22nd April 2011 the Réseau d’Epidémio-Surveillance en Pathologie Equine (RESPE) has reported a case of EHV-1 causing neurological disease in Mayenne, France. The affected horse, a 12 year-old French Trotter mare was diagnosed by PCR on blood by the Frank Duncombe Laboratory, Normandy. Typing of the EHV-1 isolate is ongoing.
