Meet Ian Marshall My dog Bobby was treated for malignant melanoma, but lost his fight against the disease in December 2012. I am running the Virgin London Marathon to raise money for the Animal Health Trust because I truly believe that the research they conduct into cancer helped treat Bobby and better his life. I have run a couple of marathons before including the Manchester Marathon, although this will be my first London Marathon. |

Meet Trish Callan I am running the Virgin London Marathon for the Animal Health Trust because of the important research they carry out into equine disease and disease surveillance. I love horses and have been around them all my life, which gives me a strong feeling of wanting to give something back to a cause that helps horses so passionately. Unfortunately due to an injury Trish has had to pull out of running the marathon. Trish has been working extremely hard for this challenge both with her training and fundraising. Trish is very kindly still raising money and supporting and being a part of team AHT. Please support her hard efforts and dedication to the AHT |

Meet Raphael Silver For most of my life I have had pets. Although I have always been moved by animal charities that help abused and abandoned animals, I also realise that the Animal Health Trust has an important role in reaching out to animals in a way that not only treats them, but also researches into deadly diseases with pioneering treatment. I believe that by running for the Trust, my efforts will have a greater contribution to animal welfare, and this is something that I am very proud of. |

Meet William Robinson I am a vet from the Royal Veterinary College and so my career has enabled me to understand the importance of the great role the Animal Health Trust plays within veterinary medicine. I am hoping that any money I raise through the challenging Virgin London Marathon will help the Trust to carry on such important work that makes huge differences for many animals’ lives. |

Meet David Jenkins I have always recognised the importance of animal welfare. I understand that the Animal Health Trust is an extremely important organisation that gets to the core of animal welfare through its research into infectious and inherited diseases, along with the excellent care through clinics and veterinary practice. I want to run the Virgin London Marathon to raise money for their vital and pioneering work, and so the marathon will prove an excellent challenge to accomplish this. |

Meet Valerie Billings I have always had dogs and been involved with animals they are our silent loyal friends. Seven years ago one of my labs ate raisins- with near fatal results. Without the help of specialist treatment he wouldn't be here today. The chance to run the marathon along with supporting the Animal Health Trust is a great opportunity to show my appreciation for their incredible dedication to animal health and welfare. |
