Small Animals
The Centre for Small Animal Studies is a large multidisciplinary veterinary referral clinic designed to accept cases referred by veterinary practitioners in general practice, and from other referral centres. Our departments include anaesthesia, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, epidemiology, internal medicine, neurology, nursing, oncology, ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery.
An experienced and highly qualified veterinarian heads each clinical department. In addition to providing a referral service in these areas, we also have an active internship and residency training programme to provide post-graduate training for qualified veterinarians and we run a number of European-approved residency programmes which have proved highly successful. A team of fully qualified veterinary nurses and an experienced, efficient administrative team support our clinicians.
Our hospital is a modern building equipped with the latest equipment needed to provide excellent tertiary care for our patients. Diagnostic facilities include a state-of-the-art MRI unit, in addition to ultrasound, radiography, electrodiagnostics, endoscopy, scintigraphy and equipment for minimally invasive surgical intervention.
On-site clinical pathology and pathology laboratories are available for sample analysis by specialist pathologists. Our 3 operating theatres are supplemented by 2 operating microscopes, excellent surgical instrumentation and anaesthetic monitoring equipment similar to that used by human hospitals. Anaesthesia is performed only by qualified anaesthetists to ensure maximum safety. Fully trained nurses attend our nursing wards 24 hours a day, with staff and facilities for intensive care provided as needed.
