We cannot continue to help animals without the support of people who realise the greatest threat to their welfare is disease and injury.

We know the way we operate and behave is incredibly important, so please find below our commitment to you - our generous supporter.

We promise to spend your money wisely

For every £1 donated, 77p powers our research and helps to fight disease and injury in animals. The remaining 23p raises our next £1 and funds essential running costs. We’re constantly looking at ways we can reduce costs and run the charity more efficiently, including the use of volunteers wherever possible. We’re totally transparent – further details on our finances can be found in our annual report and accounts, available below.

We promise to continue funding the best quality research

We’re striving for a world in which no companion animal suffers from disease and injury, we believe the best way to achieve this is through research. We promise to use your donations to fund the very best science benefitting dogs, cats and horses – in the UK and across the world.

You’ll also be pleased to know that every £1 invested in fundraising, raises £4 to spend on research and other charitable activities.

We promise to respect you

The AHT has never and will never swap or sell supporters’ personal details with third parties or other charities.

We are careful not to write to supporters too often, or to insensitively ask for donations too frequently. Our small fundraising team typically sends just two newsletters and three postal appeals per year.

Given the scientific, educational and clinical nature of the AHT’s endeavours, our fundraising letters are carefully written to provide an informative insight into our latest projects and charitable activities.

We’ll make it clear and easy for you to choose how you hear from us. If you ask us not to contact you we won’t, unless it’s a legal requirement.

The AHT commits to the Fundraising Regulator’s Promise to ensure its fundraising is legal, open, honest and respectful, and of the highest quality.
