France

Equine Herpes Virus-4 (EHV-4) Respiratory Infection

On 27 February 2019, RESPE reported three separate outbreaks of EHV-4. The first was a case on a premises in Landes. The second outbreak was on a premises in Orne, with one laboratory confirmed case and one case with similar clinical signs.  The third outbreak was on a premises in Orne and the affected case presented with pyrexia. Positive diagnoses were confirmed by PCR on nasopharyngeal swabs by LABEO Frank Duncombe.

 

Equine Influenza (EI)

On 28 February 2019, RESPE reported an outbreak of EI on a training centre in Val-de-Marne. There are a three vaccinated French Trotters that presented with signs consistent with the disease. Positive diagnoses were confirmed by PCR on nasopharyngeal swabs by LABEO Frank Duncombe.

 

United Kingdom

Equine Influenza (EI)

On 25 February 2019, AHT confirmed that all Thoroughbreds have now tested negative from a training premises in Cheshire that had an outbreak of EI confirmed on 6 February 2019 (ICC Feb 19 #04).
