Equine Influenza (EI)

On 2 January 2018, RESPE reported an outbreak of EI on a premises in Nord. The affected horses were vaccinated and presented with coughing and nasal discharge. There are a total of five affected, amongst a group of 100. Positive diagnoses were made by PCR on nasopharyngeal swabs by LABEO Frank Duncombe.

Germany

Equine Influenza (EI)

On 1 January 2019, Labor Dr. Böse GmbH reported an outbreak of EI on a premises in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. The affected horses were one mare and one gelding from the same premises that presented with coughing, lethargy and pyrexia. Positive diagnoses were confirmed by PCR on nasal swabs by Labor Dr. Böse GmbH.
