The Trust comprises the Centre for Small Animal Studies, Centre for Equine Studies and Centre for Preventive Medicine.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated, experienced Clinical Chemistry and/or Haematology Technician to join the Clinical Pathology area within our Diagnostic Laboratory Services offering high quality diagnostic testing to the veterinary industry including the AHT secondary referral clinics.

You will have a relevant BSc or HNC in Medical Laboratory Sciences specialising in clinical pathology with significant experience (5-10 years) in a human or veterinary laboratory. Experience of working within a quality management system framework with accreditation to either ISO 17025 or ISO 15189 would be desirable.

The Clinical Pathology Laboratory receives samples from companion dogs, cats and horses for clinical chemistry, haematology, coagulation, and urinalysis testing; and cytology.

As Team Leader you will have line management responsibility for a small team of technicians whilst taking responsibility for the day-to-day testing activities and reporting of results to veterinary clients in an efficient manner in order to contribute to optimal patient care. Your primary analytical role will be clinical chemistry and/or haematology analysis whilst overseeing and assisting with haematology analysis and preparation of specimens for cytological evaluation.  You will be required to troubleshoot issues with equipment, methods and internal and external quality control results in conjunction with our clinical pathologists.
