Salary: £20,056 - £21,257

The Animal Health Trust is a leading charity dedicated to the improvement of animal health and welfare through veterinary research, together with high quality clinical services and a commitment to education. The Trust comprises of the Centre for Small Animal Studies, Centre for Equine Studies and Centre for Preventive Medicine.

We are currently seeking a Contract Research Technician to work within our Diagnostic Laboratory Services and Infectious Disease Contract group.

This lab-based position will support and contribute to the conduct of contract research studies, through organisation of the day-to day activities of the study programme including collation and maintenance of study samples, data and records, and the conduct of laboratory/bench based work, meeting all necessary quality standards and regulatory guidelines.

The role reports to the Head of Diagnostic Microbiology, and will work closely with any Principal Investigators involved in any ongoing contract research studies. During non-study periods the role will support the Diagnostic Laboratory Services team.

The ideal applicant will hold a relevant degree or equivalent in a Biological Science, be enthusiastic, self-motivated and have some experience of working in a commercial laboratory setting, with good practical skills and a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential as is the ability to work as a part of team or independently on project work.
