Genetics Services Manager
Permanent, 35 hours per week
The Animal Health Trust is a leading charity dedicated to the improvement of animal health and welfare through veterinary research, together with high quality clinical services and a commitment to education. The Trust comprises of the Centre for Small Animal Studies, Centre for Equine Studies and Centre for Preventive Medicine.
We are currently seeking a dynamic, motivated and broadly experienced individual to lead our Genetics Services facility.
The successful applicant will lead and be accountable for the day-to-day operation of the canine and equine Genetics Services, providing an efficient, accurate, customer-oriented and commercially competitive DNA testing service to our clients, who include veterinary professionals, Breed Societies and individual dog owners and breeders.
To maintain the DNA testing service as a centre of excellence and to enable close collaboration with our Canine Genetics research group, the individual will have a proven track record in research and/or diagnostic laboratory settings, with experience of a broad spectrum of molecular biology and genetics techniques. Experience of relevant quality management and health and safety frameworks would also be an advantage.
