Health and Safety Advisor

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum pro-rata (depending on experience and qualifications)

The role of Health and Safety Advisor at Animal Health Trust is both diverse and challenging due to our mix of research and diagnostic laboratories and animal hospitals. Our employees work with a wide range of hazards from chemicals and radioactive sources to animals. We are looking for a confident and professional health and safety practitioner to take on this exciting opportunity to further develop and implement health and safety strategy and best practice across the organisation.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources your primary role will be to ensure AHT complies with current legislation. To do this you will need to influence executive members and senior managers and drive the HSE agenda developing systems that allow operational managers to manage health and safety at a local level.

You will need to demonstrate relevant experience of providing health and safety advice to a diverse medium sized organization, and sound health and safety knowledge which is both up to date and forward thinking. An excellent communicator you will have experience of advising senior management in relation to H&S legislation, policy and best practice. This is primarily a standalone role so the successful candidate will need to be flexible as well as resilient.

Ideally you will be educated to degree level and/or hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and be a member of IOSH and/or IRRSM
