Can’t decide whether to work in private practice or academia? Why not combine the best of each and work in the small animal clinic at the Animal Health Trust?

The Animal Health Trust is a long-established veterinary institution with an international reputation in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease in companion animals.

The small animal clinic at the AHT is a busy clinical referral centre employing approximately 150 staff including 60 vets with a large number of Board-certified specialists. We also run residency training in most disciplines and undertake a major programme of internally-funded clinical research. We are committed to clinical excellence, research and education and the highest standards of patient and client care. We are situated in an attractive parkland site just outside Newmarket and close to Cambridge, with excellent transport links to London.

The imaging, anaesthesia and nursing teams support specialist departments including small animal neurology, surgery, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology and dermatology. Neuroimaging is a particular interest and strength of our imaging unit and this post represents an excellent opportunity to become highly proficient in this aspect of imaging. The pathology and clinical pathology laboratories at the AHT complement the clinical services, providing a full on-site diagnostic service.

We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic ECVDI/ACVR/Australian Board-certified or Board-eligible radiologist to join our friendly imaging team and contribute to our continued success and development. Our clinic contains all the imaging facilities expected of an advanced referral clinic including 1.5T MRI (new scanner summer 2018), 16 slice CT, digital radiography, three ultrasound machines, fluoroscopy and scintigraphy.

In addition to the salary, holiday allocation and CPD allowance listed above our reward package includes time off clinics for study and research and a range of employee discounts. The provision of paid teleradiology and CPD in your own time is also permitted. Generous extra payments are made for on-call work. Any level of short-term contract or part-time working will also be considered.

You will need to be a Diplomate or board-eligible candidate to apply for this position, and must be MRCVS or MRCVS-eligible. Excellent mentoring is given to new staff, especially to newly-qualified Diplomates or post-trainees.
