Registered Veterinary Nurse – Float Pattern Nurse

Salary: £23,524.80 - £26,208.00 (dependent upon experience and qualifications)

The Animal Health Trust is a registered Charity dedicated to the improvement of animal health and welfare through veterinary research, together with high quality clinical services and a commitment to education. The Trust comprises of the Centre for Small Animal Studies, Centre for Equine Studies and Centre for Preventive Medicine. We would like to recruit an RVN to join our experienced team of shift nurses within the Centre for Small Animals, which is a multidisciplinary referral hospital. We offer our staff an employer contribution pension scheme, death in service, CPD allowance and basic 25 days holiday.

As a float nurse you may be required to cover a variety of shifts in order to cover holiday, sickness or in-between recruiting. The shifts are 07:00 – 15:00, 08:30 – 16:30, 14:00 – 22:00, 10:00 – 18:00 and 19:00 – 07:30. Lots of notice is given wherever possible in the event you need to cover a shift. The standard working pattern if not covering is 08:30 – 16:30.

You will work alongside Vets, RVNs, ANAs, Ward assistants, who all strive to provide a first class service for our patients and clients. Candidates will need to be flexible with this role as it is a covering a variety of hours. We would like applicants with a can do attitude that are compassionate, hardworking and have good communication skills. This role includes working in the small animal wards and the diagnostic areas in our busy referral centre. Referral nursing experience is not necessary as you will be given training on a 6 week induction plan.
