Leave a legacy
A gift in your will offers real hope for a future free from disease and injury for dogs, cats and horses.
Disease and injury are the biggest threats to our pets, and here at the Animal Health Trust, we’re constantly striving to find ways to change this. Our research is ground-breaking and, perhaps most importantly, useful – what we learn in our laboratories, we turn into practical solutions to help millions of dogs, cats and horses in the UK and across the world for generations to come. Our research takes commitment and investment, so gifts left in wills to us are vital in delivering long-term solutions to problems affecting millions of pets.
What difference will a gift in my will make?
The far-sighted generosity and kindness of people who choose to help us in this caring way ensures we can commit to long-term research to beat the disease and injuries that blight our much-loved pets. A gift in your will could help create a new DNA test to eradicate a blinding condition in dogs. It could help develop a vaccine to prevent a mare from miscarrying her unborn foal. Your gift could help us find ways to prevent cancer in animals.

How can I leave a gift in my will to the AHT?
We all want to make sure that our loved ones are taken care of in the future. By writing a will, you can make sure that your money, property and possessions go to the people and causes that you care about after you die. But it’s one of those things we often put off.
That’s why the Animal Health Trust has teamed up with Bequeathed to offer our supporters a free online will-writing service.
You can start your online will at any time in the comfort of your own home by clicking below
The process starts with an online interview and there is detailed guidance and support on hand to help you progress at your own pace. The answers you provide are used to generate your will.
Once the system has generated your will, you simply download it and follow the instructions on how to sign it in front of witnesses. It’s easy and convenient.
If you decide that you need legal advice at any point, simply ask. Bequeathed will put you in touch with one of their accredited firms of solicitors to agree a fee for completing your will by telephone or in person. The great thing is that the solicitor will have access to the information you have already provided online. This means you will have to pay for less of their time.
If you feel you need more information on how to make or change your will, we have produced a free legacy guide to help you through the process of making or changing a will. Please click the picture below to request your guide.
Whichever way you choose to make your will, please consider leaving a gift to the Animal Health Trust. Your generosity will help us to carry on our vital work long into the future. Thank you.
If you are adding Animal Health Trust to your will, you will need our registered address and charity number. These are:
