Our small animal internal medicine service is headed by Heather Covey, who has more than 10 years veterinary experience gained in the UK and New Zealand.

Biography

Heather graduated from Cambridge Veterinary School in 2007. After several years in small animal practice in the Peak District she embarked on a round-the-world sailing race, followed by a year in mixed practice in New Zealand. On returning to the UK, Heather completed an internship and then a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College. She joined the Animal Health Trust immediately afterwards, and has moved to live in the countryside with her husband, tortoise and one-eyed springer spaniel. She is interested in all aspects of medicine, especially in interventional procedures and hepatology.
